Size 17cms x 12cms. In cut mount. Framed and glazed. Good condition.
No. 8 in the Sketches at Lord's. Sampson played for Yorkshire between 1845 and 1855. In the mid nineteenth century Anderson produced a series of well-observed lithograph portraits of contemporary cricketers. These have always enjoyed a wide popularity and have become collectors' items.
