A Coalport china plate bearing a central portrait of Ames, encircled by bats and stumps, each containing details of one of his hundred first-class centuries. The design is completed by a border of balls and bails and edged in gold.
(Issued in 1980).
Diameter 23cms. Good condition.
LIMITED EDITION of 500 plates. Produced to commemorate Ames's 100th first-class century, scored in 1950. He made 102 first-class centuries in his career. Ames played for Kent between 1926 and 1951, and for England between 1929 and 1939.

LIMITED EDITION of 500 plates. Produced to commemorate Amiss's 100th first-class century, scored in 1986. He made 102 first-class centuries in his career. Amiss played for Warwickshire between 1960 and 1987, and for England between 1966 and 1977.

Produced to commemorate the 1953 Australian tour of England. The first Royal Worcester plate produced to commemorate a cricket tour of England was in 1938. The company next produced a cricket plate to commemorate the 1949 New Zealand tour of England, and this series of plates appeared regularly until 1973. 1953 is the only year two different plates were produced. Produced in very limited numbers they were presented to each member of the touring team during their visit to the factory at Worcester. This plate is possibly an original proof, issued in 1968. It is undated and untitled, and is also 4cms smaller than the other plates in this series issued between 1938 and 1973. It was until recently held in the Royal Worcester China Museum. Diameter 23cms. Good condition.
