A one page autograph letter from Percy Warren to C.B. Fry, asking Fry for an autograph.
Fry has added a short pencil note, signed, at the foot of the letter: Memo. Sorry but I am not in the photo! Otherwise I'll be only too glad. C.B. Fry. Fry (1872-1956) played for Oxford University between 1892 and 1895, for Sussex between 1894 and 1908, for Hampshire between 1909 and 1921, and for England between 1896 and 1912. He was one of the most talented of all English sportsmen, and also played soccer for England and held the world long jump record.

Lord Birkett's foreword only appeared in the Sportsman's Book Club edition of Bat and Ball. He was a prominent barrister and was the British judge during the Nuremberg Trials.
