A Royal Worcester bone china plate with facsimile signatures of the 1963 West Indies team. 1963. Diameter 27cms. Edged in gold. Good condition. Produced to commemorate the 1963 West Indies tour of England. The first Royal Worcester plate produced to commemorate a cricket tour of England was in 1938. The company next produced a cricket plate to commemorate the 1949 New Zealand tour of England, and this series of plates appeared regularly until 1973. Issued in very limited numbers they were presented to each member of the touring team during their visit to the factory at Worcester.
