A Royal Worcester bone china plate with facsimile signatures of the 1963 West Indies team.

Diameter 27cms. Edged in gold. Good condition.
Produced to commemorate the 1963 West Indies tour of England. The first cricket plate was issued by Royal Worcester in 1938. The company next produced a cricket plate to commemorate the 1949 New Zealand tour of England, and this series of plates appeared regularly until 1973. Issued in very limited numbers they were presented to each member of the touring team during their visit to the factory at Worcester. (WOOLLEY, F.E.) - (CENTURY OF CENTURIES CHINA PLATE).
A Royal Grafton china plate bearing a central portrait of Woolley, encircled by bats and stumps, each containing details of one of his hundred first-class centuries. The design is completed by a border of balls and bails and edged in gold.

Diameter 23cms. Preserved in silk-lined presentation box.
LIMITED EDITION of 500 plates. Produced to commemorate Woolley's 100th first-class century, scored in 1929. He made 145 first-class centuries in his career. Woolley played for Kent between 1906 and 1938. He played 64 Test matches for England between 1909 and 1934.

A heavy pale green Jasper Ware china mug, the body moulded in relief in white, titled: Worcestershire County Cricket Club Champions 1964. Decorated with relief representations of a bowler, a batsman, fielders, and the county ground, with the XIth century cathedral in the background.

A grandstand ticket for the Second Test match between Australia and West Indies, played at Sydney Cricket Ground 1st-6th January 1931.

Size 11.5cms x 5.5cms. Contemporary annotations to verso, otherwise in excellent condition.
This was West Indies first tour of Australia. Ponsford scored 183 and the match was won by Australia by an innings and 172 runs.
