[MYNN, Alfred].
SKETCHES AT LORD'S GROUND. NO. 5. ALFRED MYNN ESQ. DEDICATED TO THE MEMBERS OF THE MARY-LE-BONE CLUB. An original hand-coloured lithograph of Alfred Mynn by an unknown artist. Lithographed by Mourilyan & Casey.
Published in London by Thomas C. Lewis & Co., (c.1855).
Size 26.5cms x 31.5cms. Three slight marks to background. Laid down. Preserved in cut mount.
Alfred Mynn was the greatest all-rounder of his day. He played for Kent between 1834 and 1859, and for Sussex between 1839 and 1847. Although often attributed to John Corbet Anderson, this rare series of lithographs was not his work. The title and style were pirated versions of Anderson's Sketches at Lord's, and the artist is unknown.
