The American Cricketer was started by Daniel S. Newhall and Henry Cope, and was intended to serve as the public organ of all cricketers in America. Each issue contains details of fixtures, the formation of new clubs, information on tours by foreign teams, details of American and foreign scores, etc. From 1899, although still mainly concerned with cricket, this periodical contained sections on golf, tennis, association football, rowing, and other sports. This periodical ran from June 28, 1877 until April 1929. It appeared weekly from May to November, and monthly from November to April. Padwick, 4050.
